RSpak & Asahipak: Polymer-based General Use RP

Partition and adsorption chromatography is the most widely used analytical method in HPLC analysis.

Shodex polymer-based columns for partition and adsorption chromatography (reversed and normal phase) are superior to silica-based media in range of eluent selection, lot reproducibility and durability.

In addition to standard columns with ID 4.6-8.0 mm, we provide micro columns with ID 300 μm -800 μm, semi-micro columns with ID 1.0 mm-2.0 mm and preparative columns with ID 10 mm and above.

DS-613,413Because they are packed with low polarity polymers (styrene divinyl benzene), these are suitable for analysis by reversed phase of highly hydrophilic substances which cannot be well-retained by ODS columns.
DE SeriesThese columns have the widest application among the RSpak. Since they are packed with polymer-based material that have almost equal polarity as silica-based material bonded with C-18 groups, chromatography similar to ODS columns can be obtained. They have a wide application and can be used with eluent conditions that are not compatible with standard ODS columns, such as "can be used in analysis with 100% water" and "can be used in analysis and cleaning with alkali eluent". Separation characteristics of the DE series are slightly different from those of the Asahipak ODP series because of the difference in packing material.
DM-614Suitable for analysis of amino acids and polypeptides.
DC-613Suitable for analysis of saccharides in normal phase.
NN-814,614,414Multimode column with reversed phases and cation exchange.
These columns incorporate a trace amount of sulfo group in the packing material of the reversed phase columns. Separation of neutral substances is by reversed phase mode, of basic substances by reversed phase and ion exchange mode and of acidic substances by ion exclusion and reversed phase mode. They are therefore suitable for analysis of complex samples that have a mixture of neutral substances and ionic substances.
JJ-50Multimode column with reversed phases and anion exchange.
(old name) SS-50These columns incorporate a trace amount of quaternary ammonia group in the packing material of the reversed phase columns. Separation of neutral substances is by reversed phase mode, of basic substances by ion exclusion and reversed phase mode and of acidic substances by reversed phase and ion exchange mode. They are therefore suitable for analysis of complex samples that have a mixture of neutral substances and ionic substances.
ODP, C8P, C4PSince the pore size of packing material for Asahipak ODP, C8P and C4P series is large, only one type of column is needed for the analysis of high molecular weight substances such as proteins to medium/low molecular weight substances such as peptides and amino acids.
Hydrophobic interaction becomes weaker in the following order: ODP (octadecyl group), C8P (octyl group) and C4P (butyl group). Characteristics similar to the RSpak DE series can be found, when used in analysis with 100% water, when used with alkali eluent and when used in with low salt concentration.
ODP-40High performance version of the ODP-50 series. ODP-50G 4A of the ODP-50 series must be used a the guard column.
